The Land of Nod . Retail Design . 2017
retail & signage design, production management
My role at The Land of Nod included working directly with our visual merchandising manager as well as the Crate and Barrel architecture team to create retail graphics for the opening of our store in Natick, Massachusetts.
For the front of store experience, I designed the blade sign as well as the front lettering concept. I designed the entryway mosaic “Hello,” by creating a grid system based off the architectural drawings, so Daltile could translate my design into the final piece.
I worked with our architectural team and a pair of local muralists to implement and oversee the painting of the ceiling mural, which had been created by an outside team of artist.
In 2016, The Land of Nod was asked to set up a series of “shop-in-shops” inside six Crate and Barrel stores for the holiday season. Working with our visual merchandiser, I created a set of new graphics for these stores, including the large hanging acrylic sign and the vinyl “floor mat” at the front of the store. As a part of this initiative, I had the opportunity to build and set up one of these shop-in-shops at its Westport, Connecticut store. This included installing the floor vinyl and hanging the acrylic sign on my own.
